British Seafood gain EFSIS accreditation in Chinese factories

Article 2007

EFSIS Setting StandardsAs part of British Seafoods commitment to supplier base development, they embarked on a project this year to improve the quality standard of their joint venture factories for white fish in China.

This was with a view to setting up quality systems which would enable them to progress to a BRC level standard. This venture has now come to fruition and British Seafood are delighted to announce that both their joint venture factories in Yantai and Rushan have been audited by EFSIS to the EFSIS/BRC Technical Standard and have passed with flying colours gaining Higher Level Accreditation.

Tracey Heyworth, the British Seafood Group Quality Auditor and George Armah, the Group Technical Director have both spent considerable time in China with the HACCP teams at each factory to ensure a successful outcome.

This initiative again underlines the commitment that British Seafood has to driving quality forward within their product portfolio and ensuring that they stay at the forefront of global foodservice.

With this accreditation which is now a requirement with the major worldwide retailers and foodservice customers, British Seafood, are able to offer all the benefits associated with processing at source and delivering direct to the customer.
